Vth CIF Meeting For The Vincentian Family

Council General International

To all Superiors General, Provincials, Presidents of Associations and Movements, all members of the great Vincentian Family

Dear brothers and sisters:

“Grace and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ the Lord”

As every year, the International Centre of Vincentian Formation (CIF) invites you or who you delegate to participate in the Vth CIF MEETING FOR THE VINCENTIAN FAMILY. It will be held from Monday, August 3 to Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

It is dedicated to all the members of the Vincentian Family, whether they are lay people, religious female and male, religious or diocesan priests. It is offered to all those who wish to deepen their knowledge of Vincentian ethics and spirituality.

In these weeks we will see: what is the Vincentian Family; how to work together in the integral dignity of the poor; what was St. Vincent’s original inspiration and how to deepen it; some important figures of the Vincentian Family; the Vincentian ethics; the effective ways to solve spiritual and material poverty; how to improve the togetherness and economy of our groups.

All this will be accompanied by some trips to the Vincentian places in Paris and other places in France. It will also be a space for the mutual knowledge of Vincentian associations and congregations. In addition, we will dedicate time to prayer and meditation, as well as to free time.

This invitation is also extended to those lay people who, without being strictly part of a Vincentian association, work hard in our works: schools, administration, charitable works, missions, secretariat, archives, hospital world, etc. It seems to me that this meeting could also be a “good gift” for those who are celebrating their vows or ordination anniversary, or for those lay people who have been working for years in leadership roles in Vincentian places. In the same way, it could be a part of the time well spent, for those who have asked for a sabbatical year.

I would only ask you to invite people who are eager to learn about our spirituality, who have minimal conditions for teamwork and who are determined to come.

Additional information. This meeting is held at the Mother House of the Congregation of the Mission (Lazaristes), 95, rue de Sèvres, PARIS FRANCE. The course is given in English, Spanish and French. The cost is 1,900 euros including all expenses.

Last details. Since the Motherhouse of the Congregation of the Mission has a large number of visitors, and we have a limited number of places, you should confirm your participation as soon as possible. And from July 3rd there will be no more registrations. I will respond to your e-mails, sending you the registration with all the necessary information. Remember that many countries need a visa to enter France. This procedure usually takes longer than you think, so you should do it well in advance and present the documents that the French government requires. The first thing we need in order to start the visa process (besides the photocopy of the passport) is the photocopy of the ticket with the date of entry and exit of the country and the photocopy of the traveler’s medical insurance. As you can see, in this type of procedure, the two pieces of information I marked in italics are taken out before the Visa, not after. I repeat, if we do it with enough time, there is no problem.

I bid you farewell with the unwavering affection I feel for each of you. Your brother in Mary and St. Vincent.
