Visit of the PGI to the Holy Father Leo XIV, at the Vatican

Through the courtesy of the French Embassy to the Holy See, the President General recently had the opportunity to greet the Holy Father and to present him, on behalf of our brothers in the United States, the first volume of the Letters of Frédéric Ozanam in English, as well as to offer him, on behalf of our brothers in Brazil, a special bottle of wine dedicated to our founder, whose label bears the image of Ozanam and our international logo.

The President, who was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer Paulo Cavaleri, reminded the Holy Father that the Conferences of St Vincent de Paul throughout the world pray for his intentions, and also for the anticipated sanctification of Frédéric Ozanam, highlighting his merit as a “precursor of the Church’s Social Doctrine”.

In conclusion, the President presented a letter to the Holy Father, requesting an audience in order to present to him the activities of the Society of St Vincent de Paul throughout the world and to place ourselves at his disposal to collaborate in his pastoral mission.
