Vincentians in Ecuador Struggle against the Pandemic

Conference St John Paul II has purchased healthcare products and PPE against Covid-19 to carry out its work: looking after the most vulnerable groups in its neighbourhood.

The SSVP International’s humanitarian aid in the fight against Covid-19 has been sent to Ecuador, particularly to one of the Conferences on the frontline in the struggle against the pandemic: The Vincentians of Conference St John Paul II (city of Cuenca), who are tirelessly working to assist people in dire need, especially families, children and elderly people, despite the difficulties arising from the pandemic.

With the International SSVP’s financial support, fellow members have purchased PPE (masks, gloves, protective goggles, biosafety suits…), and coronavirus testing (PCR) is being carried out for rapid detection and control of clusters or outbreaks, and, if necessary, lockdown measures are imposed. Hence, the Conference is proactively working in the fight against the pandemic.
