The Council General Requests the Dissemination of Formation Material within the Vincentian Family
The Vincentian and Christian formation is essential for every fellow member undertaking any charitable activity within the Conferences, Councils or Charitable Works, supported by the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP). As a matter of fact, a lifelong quality formation is the top priority, according to the international strategic approach adopted by the Council General.
All members of the Vincentian Family need quality formation material; in other words, better tools to be more effective in serving those in need. In this regard, formation plays a key role in the growth of all of us, who follow Jesus Christ in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul and Frédéric Ozanam. There is a great deal of Vincentian formation material, but it’s crucial that this material be disseminated, thus reaching people who need it so that they can fulfill their mission.
For some years now, a work team of the Vincentian Family strives to find the best way to disseminate this material. However, it’s up to all of us to develop a proper virtual library to provide all Vincentian members with the digital material required, regardless of the Branch, the social work they belong to or place of residence.
Hence, as the SSVP’s Council General, we do prompt all National Councils to share what they have worldwide. You can download the form concerning the submittal of formation-related material from the following website: http://lib.vincentians.com. This library will become operational and available to all, once enough material is compiled. “The SSVP can be of great help to this worthy initiative. The better formed, the better service provided by fellow members to those who suffer.”, stated the President General, Renato Lima.
Join us to develop this library! Share your files or those belonging to the Councils of your country!
This is requested by our 16th President General, the fellow member Renato Lima de Oliveira, and the International Vice-Presidency for Formation, presided by our fellow member Marisa Téllez.
Thanks you all for your effort and contribution!
