The Council General appeals for an urgent help for Indonesia

World News

On August 5, a strong earthquake hit the island of Lombok in Indonesia. The tremors killed around 500 people and left thousands of wounded and homeless in need of water, food, medicine and shelter. The earthquake, magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale, destroyed thousands of residences, churches, commercial areas and schools.

The Council General International of the SSVP intends to send urgent humanitarian aid to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Indonesia, which will use these resources to help the poorest.
