SSVP of Hong Kong organizes a training on Ozanam and St. Vincent
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) of Hong Kong organized a training seminar on the theme “The systemic and mystical thought of Blessed Ozanam” on September 7 and 8. A total of 65 people participated, including SSVP members and guests from collaborating institutions. The event took place at the Auditorium of the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong.
Fathers Yohanes Kusno, CM, and Eko Armada Riyanto, CM, accompanied the participants through the history and spirituality of Frederick Ozanam and St. Vincent de Paul, highlighting how it is possible to become a good Vincentian in the midst of the reality of Hong Kong.
During the training, it was emphasized that both St. Vincent de Paul and Frederick Ozanam showed a deep love for the Church through their unwavering commitment to their mission of evangelization and service.
“In response to poverty, Ozanam and St. Vincent saw the need to have a systematic and organized approach to serving the poor directly, focusing on human dignity and the defense of social justice. Both followed the mission of the Church,” says Maurice Yeung, territorial vice president for Asia, region 3, emphasizing the points raised.
