SSVP Oceania meets in Auckland
From April 9 to 12, 2026, representatives of the SSVP from nine Oceania countries gathered in Auckland, New Zealand, to continue developing the 10-year regional collaboration program launched in 2023. Delegates from Vanuatu, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Samoa, New Zealand, Kiribati, Fiji, Micronesia, and Australia participated, together with members of the Oceania territorial team and the International Vice President General, Bro. Ralph Middlecamp.
The meeting, chaired by the International Territorial Vice President for Oceania, Bro. Paul Trezise, focused on strengthening the region’s shared vision and defining a strategic plan for the next three years. Training sessions were also held on sustainability, risk management, and safeguarding vulnerable people.

During the gathering, Bro. Ralph encouraged participants to reflect on how our founders would react if they visited one of our conferences today. Among the highlights were the farewell to long-serving Oceania area coordinator Bro. Keith Norton and the closing Mass celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
The SSVP Oceania region includes 11 countries, among them Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste, where the Society is still in the early stages of development. The region currently has 1,400 active conferences and 18,000 members serving a population of 50 million people.
