Romanian Vincentians strengthen their mission of service during a national gathering
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) in Romania held a new meeting of the National Council of the Union of Charitable Associations “Saint Vincent de Paul” on 2 May 2026.
The meeting, hosted by the Vincentian Association “Our Lady of Mercy” in Turț, Satu Mare County, brought together representatives of several Conferences from across the country to strengthen collaboration and renew their commitment to the Vincentian mission.
Presidents and members of the Conferences of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and Saint Anthony of Padua in Iași, Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus in Roman, as well as the Conferences of Târgu Frumos, Bocșa (Caraș-Severin), Adjudeni, Bălțăți, Onești and the host Conference of Turț took part in the meeting. Their wide participation reflected the vitality and spirit of communion that characterise the SSVP in Romania.

Beyond this national gathering, Romanian Vincentians continue their daily mission through home visits to individuals and families in need, the distribution of material assistance, and cooperation with the Food Bank. Thanks to these efforts, many people have access to essential goods.
The photographs shared by the National Council illustrate how this commitment is translated into close and constant service within local communities, accompanying those most in need and fostering solidarity through concrete actions. These initiatives reflect the daily commitment to the Society’s mission and its active presence alongside the most vulnerable.

Through initiatives such as these, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Romania continues to strengthen fraternity among its Conferences and to make the Vincentian charism visible through organised, compassionate and committed charity in service of those most in need.
