Publication of the 2026 Circular Letter
The International President General of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul has released the 2026 Circular Letter, in which he shares his reflections and guidance for the new year, addressed to all members, collaborators, and friends of the SSVP around the world.
In this edition, the President invites everyone to strengthen Vincentian unity and fraternity, renewing the commitment to faith and service to those most in need. The letter highlights Frédéric Ozanam as a “Precursor of the Social Doctrine of the Church”, emphasizing the social and evangelizing dimension of Vincentian action, focused on the integral development of every person.
Among the year’s main highlights is the creation of the International Global Foundation, based in Geneva, established to promote cooperation and resource mobilization for evangelization and solidarity projects. The letter also mentions progress in formation, youth, governance, communication, and environmental sustainability, which are key pillars of the work of the International General Council.
The letter also pays tribute to the life and example of Pope Francis, and introduces the new pontiff, Leo XIV, with whom the General Council maintains dialogue in support of the canonization process of Blessed Frédéric Ozanam.
In a message of hope, the President General encourages the entire Vincentian Family to continue walking together throughout the world as one united Conference, bearing witness to the love of Christ through charity, friendship, and transformative action.
