Brazil hosts Pan-American youth meeting
Brazil is hosting the First Pan-American Meeting of National Youth Delegates of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP). The event will be held from September 27 to 29 in the city of Sumaré. National youth delegates from 34 American countries are participating in the meeting.
The event has a formative character and will address the realities of youth in America. The meeting will take place in the same place and parallel to the III National Vincentian Youth Forum in Brazil. “We are doing this together with the Forum so that the other coordinators, from other countries, can also have this vision of the Brazilian Vincentian youth, of how the young people work here in the conferences. Certainly, there will arise in their hearts this desire and this strength to return to their places of origin to rekindle the flame of Vincentian youth”, says Juliana Rosa, International Youth Delegate.
The General Council will be represented by the President General, Juan Manuel Buergo Gómez, who will be accompanied by Sebastián Gramajo, Deputy Vice-President, Júlio César Marques de Lima, International Vice-President of the Structure, and Sebastião Ribeiro, Vice-President for South America.
National Youth Forum
In parallel, SSVP Brazil promotes the 3rd edition of the National Vincentian Youth Forum. With the inspiring theme “Youth, Living Face of Ozanam”, the meeting will gather about 2,000 young people from all over the country. The event will include workshops and moments of spirituality.
“The Forum is more than just a meeting. It is a vibrant witness, a unique moment to strengthen our charism, to renew in the heart of every young person present the feeling of being part of it,” says the National Coordinator for Brazil of the Youth Commission, Geyson Tôrres de Lima.
