Our Brother José Alves Passes Away in Brasília, Member of the International Commission for Aid and Development Project Team
The International General Council of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) joins our brothers and sisters in Brazil in mourning the passing of our dear fellow member, José Alves. His life was a testament to dedication and service to those in greatest need, leaving an indelible mark on the Vincentian family and all those he served with generosity and love.
As a former President of the Metropolitan Council of Brasília and a current member of the Project Team of the International Commission for Aid and Development, José Alves embodied Vincentian values with a fraternal spirit and unwavering commitment. His legacy will remain alive in the SSVP and in every act of charity he continues to inspire.
In this time of sorrow, we offer our prayers that God may grant comfort to his family, friends, and the entire Vincentian community who grieve his departure today. May his witness of faith and dedication inspire us to continue the mission of serving those who suffer most, with the same passion and devotion that he so exemplified.
May the Lord, in His infinite mercy, welcome him into His Kingdom and grant him eternal rest. Amen.
We invite all SSVP Conferences to offer the De Profundis prayer in his memory, entrusting his soul to the peace and love of God.
