On July 4th, the Vincentian Youth of the SSVP will celebrate their International Day

Youth

The International Youth Day of the SSVP is an initiative of the International Youth Committee of the International General Council of the SSVP. This celebration begun in 2017 and will focus this year on “The Young Vicentian as a promoter of the culture of peace.”

According to Willian Alves, president of the International Youth Committee, this day is very special and should be celebrated all over the world. Indeed, young people are very important to the institution, reminding us of the young founders that in 1833 began the great Network of Charity.

July 4th is the date on which the Church celebrates the day of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, patron of the Vincentian Youth, and who during his youth, actively participated in an SSVP conference.

Numerous activities can be carried out to recall this important date in the SSVP International General Council calendar, like for example:

– Celebration for the young;

– Training Day;

– Prayer for the Canonization of Ozanam;

– Novena to Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati;

– Renewal of the Vincentian Commitment;

– Day of leisure and sports activities;

– Eucharistic Liturgy in Action of Grace;

– Video conference;

– Virtual Promotion on Facebook;

– And other activities.

The International Youth Committee asks that the activities portray actions promoting Peace in the world and how the Young Vincentians can collaborate for it.

Photos and Comments should be sent to the General Council for dissemination on social networks and on the international website.

We ask from the National Council to spread the news and for the whole Vincentian Youth to celebrate its day with great joy and service to the poor.
