Official Mourning: our farewell to dear Stéphane

Council General International

President-General announces seven days of mourning

This is news that no one would like to break. We regret to have to inform you all that one of the Council General International’s employees, Stéphane Joachim, 58 years old, passed away yesterday in Paris.

Stéphane was a loving and friendly person, very dedicated to his work, good humored, frank, sincere, loyal, very spiritual (daily mass) and always available to collaborate.

In the Council General, he was responsible for the logistics of events and meetings, for the Chapel as well as updating statistical data. He had worked with us for 26 years.

The President General, brother Renato Lima de Oliveira, deeply saddened, declared seven days of official mourning in the whole Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. Holy Masses are requested to be celebrated for Stéphane’s soul in the parishes where the SSVP is present.

“We all remember with joy when he used to play his flute in our meetings and celebrations. I have known him since 2001. We will miss you very much, Stéphane,” commented President Renato.

“To the family of dear Stéphane, our sincere condolences. May his mother, brothers and nephews have divine comfort in these very difficult moments of life. Stéphane, without you the staff will not be quite the same, but we will keep in us the good moments lived together”, emphasized Marie-Françoise, Secretary General.

We ask the Virgin Mary to intercede with Our Lord Jesus Christ for the soul of our beloved friend Stéphane.
