May 13: Our Lady of Fatima, a message of hope that remains alive
Today, May 13, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul joins in the celebration of Our Lady of Fatima, recalling the message that the Virgin Mary entrusted to the three shepherd children in 1917 and which, more than a century later, continues to be a call to hope, peace and solidarity.
In a world marked by so many difficulties and uncertainties, Mary’s invitation to prayer, trust in God and care for those most in need remains deeply relevant today. Her example continues to inspire the Vincentian Conferences to live out charity through closeness, listening and commitment to people experiencing poverty and exclusion.
On this special day, we ask Our Lady of Fatima to accompany and strengthen the Vincentian mission on every continent, encouraging us to continue building more fraternal, humane and supportive communities.
