Jean Denis Likonya, National President of the SSVP in DR Congo, dies at the age of 62

We are deeply saddened to announce to the entire Society of Saint Vincent de Paul the death on August 27 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, of our brother Jean Denis Likonya, National President of the SSVP in the country.

The General Council expresses its deepest sympathy to our brothers in the DRC and to Jean Denis’ family. His departure to the Father’s House leaves a void in the hearts of all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jean Denis, after 26 years of service, was a valued and much loved brother whose dedication and commitment will always be remembered. His legacy and the impact he had on the SSVP in the DRC will endure. In addition, Jean Denis was a member of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
