Although new modes of consumption encourage sharing, collaborative practices and exchange, social exclusion shows no sign of diminishing and is becoming ever more blatant. Remaining true to the Vincentian principles of ‘Loving, Sharing and Serving’, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society’s action includes tackling the exclusion and isolation leading to poverty. Sharing is not just about combating material poverty; it also means restoring human beings’ rightful position within groups.
Via both small- and large-scale action, the SSVP’s conferences establish social ties, share resources, and initiate projects to help their neighbourhoods, communities and villages.
