Objective 4 of the 17 world sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 is education, which is also recognized as a human right. For various reasons – conflicts, poverty, geographical remoteness, natural disasters, etc. – millions of children throughout the world are still denied education. Furthermore, school drop-out and academic failure are global problems affecting the poorest and richest countries alike.
Nevertheless, education is essential for a country’s development. It increases people’s chances of attaining a more stable, dignified life, and also promotes peace and gender equality.
The SSVP throughout the world works tirelessly for young people’s education and training via various forms of action: educational support, professional training centres, education programmes, etc.
