The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is supported mainly by its volunteer members’ constant work with the poorest of the poor and by its donors’ generosity, which enables the Society to undertake more concrete action via emergency aid for disaster victims and development projects.

Get involved as a volunteer

Becoming a member of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul means committing yourself to a team (Conference) and reaching out to the poor, lonely, fragile and marginalized. “The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is open to all those who seek to live their faith by loving their neighbour in need. Anyone who shares this desire can therefore be a member of the SSVP. Volunteers work near where they live – in their neighbourhoods and communities – giving their time to help their neighbours. This help can be material (rendering small services, carrying out soup runs, helping the elderly) or simply take the form of listening and being attentive to people who are lonely.

How to become a volunteer: contact the National/Superior Council in your country of residence to find out your nearest Conference’s contact details.

As a donor, you can state that your donation is to be earmarked for a specific purpose; we will always respect your wishes.
