Between 8th and 12th January 2020, the International Vincentian Family will hold, in Rome (Italy), the 1st “International Meeting of Leaders of the Vincentian Family”, bringing together the 150 Superiors General and Presidents of all the Vincentian branches in the world. The event will take place in the premises of the “Instituto Augustinianum”, where these leaders will debate and talk about the foundations of a common path for us to follow as a Family.
The International General Council of the SSVP will be represented by the fellow members Renato Lima (16th President General), Ricardo Tavares (Coordinator of the Vincentian Family Department) and Eduardo Marques (International Strategic Plan). The three of them will give lectures and participate in debates in different sessions and plenary meetings. “By strengthening the Vincentian Family worldwide, the General Council shows all countries that we need to support and value the actions of the Vincentian Family at national level, because together, in close collaboration and harmony, we are stronger,” our President Renato Lima stated.
In addition to this representation of the CGI, and as special guests of the Vincentian Family, a team of our friends from Ozanam TV will also be present, who will broadcast live this great event.
Soon after, between 13th and 15th January 2020, at the “Casa Maria Immacolata”, there will be the annual meeting of the International Executive Committee of the Vincentian Family, entity made up of eight branches, being four of them fixed (Congregation of the Mission, the Daughters of Charity, the SSVP and the AIC) and four participating on a rotational basis. At this meeting, the General Council will be represented by the fellow members Renato Lima and Ricardo Tavares.
Between 16th and 26th January, the President General will have several events in Italy. These include the foundation of the St. Peter and St Paul Conference in the Vatican (January 16), the Board meeting of the National Council of Italy, in Rome (25 January), the visit to the Vatican Dicasteries of which the SSVP is part (“Integral Human Promotion” and “Family, Laity and Life”), as well as a working meeting with Father Giuseppe Guerra, postulator of the cause of canonization of Ozanam. Let us pray for the success of all these initiatives, God willing.
