Covid19. Italy. The network of charity in Muggiò

Northern Italy has been one of the areas worst-hit by Covid19. The members and volunteers of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Muggiò have been working to protect families most in need, in collaboration with the “Noi, gli amici di Paolo” (We, the friends of Paul) Solidarity bank to prepare food parcels and distribute them to the most vulnerable. The SSVP is also working closely with Caritas and organisations such as “Mother of Mercy” and “Italian Families”.
This “coordinated volunteering” network has been widened and now consists of over 180 volunteers, who have enhanced their services during this time of pandemic and are providing food parcels to over 700 people.
Thanks to donations from many individuals and institutions, it has been possible to purchase food for the coming months, as well as sanitary supplies and over 1000 masks which have been shared among the families assisted.
