Covid19. Chile. Today More Than Ever We Are a Network of Charity

The Covid-19 pandemic has given rise to many needs in the community of our foundation. Therefore, the Training / Formation Division of the Educational Network has organized a powerful solidarity campaign.
In an attempt to be a light of hope and to spread the joy of giving to others, the Training / Formation Division of the Educational Network of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has organized a solidarity campaign to help the most vulnerable people. This initiative is based on the donation of non-perishable food that is then distributed to the school families that are in the greatest need.

At the same time, there was an urgent need for the network of foster care (Red de Hogares) to provide personal protective equipment (especially face masks) to our collaborators. Hence, the Training / Formation Division of the Educational Network added this need to its campaign, which brought in volunteers to make highly efficient masks. In response, dozens of people joined this initiative by collecting bags of material, cutting filters, donating money to buy cloth, thread and elastic, and making the masks (about a thousand have already been delivered).
“[…] the pandemic came along to mobilize us, to reinforce our objective of experiencing ourselves as part of a family that ought to support one another in difficult times”.
