Covid19. Brazil. CIAD Member Actively Takes Part in a Mask-Donation Campaign for Conferences and Special Works

On behalf of brother Eduardo Tsukamoto, a member of the Commission for International Aid and Development (CIAD) of the Council General International (CGI), 2,500 masks were distributed in the region of Itapetininga (Brazil). The mask-donation campaign was carried out with the support of local entrepreneurs, aimed at helping to fight against Covid-19.
The soft-cloth face masks, bearing CIAD’s logo, were delivered to the Central Council of Itapetininga, which distributed them to the families assisted by the Conferences and to the elderly people sheltered in the Vincentian homes located in three cities (Itapetininga, Saint Michael Archangel and Buri).
Eduardo, SSVP member since 1990, does not intend to stop there. He is organizing one “Live” program in the coming weeks to get more donations, particularly clothes and food, which will be distributed to our friends in need. “I am very grateful to God for all He has given me. My family and I have received many blessings in our lives. At this time, when the world is going through this pandemic, we have to do our part”, Eduardo said.
In the picture, Eduardo is beside sister Maria Cristina Rodrigues Nunes, representing the local Central Council. We thank God for the gift of life, and we ask the Lord to continue to bless Eduardo and the businessmen who were very generous during this campaign”, emphasised fellow member Renato Lima de Oliveira, 16th President General of the SSVP.
CIAD is one of the most important institutions within the Council General International, in charge of sending donations to the territories which are part of the Confederation. In 2019, for example, 800,000 euros were transferred to 40 countries, sponsoring 60 projects. CIAD meets twice a year (March and September) to analyse the social projects sent to the Council General by the Superior/National Councils.
