Clement Venter, International Formation Delegate of Africa 2, passed away in South Africa.
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of our dear brother Clement Venter. Clement was, among other service positions, president of the National Council of South Africa, always had a great interest in formation and commitment to Vincentian values. In one of his last lectures he spoke to us about the “throw away culture”, not only of our confreres, but also of superfluous and unnecessary things and threw us a question: “would we be willing to live with greater austerity or, at least, to reflect on it?”
From the General Council, representing all the members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, we send our sincere condolences to his family, friends and all our brothers in South Africa. We ask for prayers for his soul.
The Council General asks the members to make an intention at the Mass for his eternal rest.
