Christmas Message 2021 – SSVP 16th General President
Dear brothers and sisters!
May peace be with you all!
On behalf of the Council General International, I would like to wish you a holy and happy Christmas of the Lord, filled with many blessings, with your family.
The past year has been quite a challenge for all of us, SSVP members, because it called for additional strength to keep on undertaking the work of Conferences and special works.
The health crisis has touched us all, especially the most vulnerable, the refugees, the persecuted, the sick, the poor and the unemployed.
However, our message is one of greater commitment and hope for better days.
God always blesses us, and He also expects much from us.
The Child Jesus is walking with us on this journey to fulfill our Vincentian mission and our role as baptized Christians, giving witness to divine love; and He will never abandon us.
The Holy Family of Nazareth is the perfect light to show the way to holiness and forgiveness.
May 2022, the international year dedicated to cofounder Auguste Le Taillandier, bring more hope, faith and charity to this world, especially to the most needy.
This is the wish of the President General and the Council General’s Board for the entire Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Vincentian Family.
Merry Christmas and Happy 2022!
Renato Lima de Oliveira
16th General President
