Celebration in Paris of the Feast of Frédéric Ozanam
On September 9, a solemn Eucharist was celebrated in the chapel of the international headquarters in Paris on the occasion of Ozanam’s feast. It was presided over by Father Arnaud Mougin, diocesan priest and pastor of the Parish of Saint Rosalie of Palermo in Paris, where Blessed Sister Rosalie Rendu is venerated. In his homily, Father Arnaud highlighted the recognition of Ozanam as a forerunner of the Church’s Social Doctrine, for his focus on human dignity, social justice, and the common good, promoting solidarity and charitable action to transform society from within.
The President General was accompanied, among other fellow members, by Bruno Houssay, a direct descendant of the 5th generation of Frédéric and Amélie, by Vice President Ralph Middelcamp, who attended the Mass leading a group of American Vincentian pilgrims, by Treasurer Alfons Ten Velde, by Secretary Antonio Gianfico, by the President of the National Council of France Serge Castillón, and by the President of the Council of Paris Alain Carton.
