As a preamble to the meetings of the International Assembly of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (June 13-17), the international Territorial Vice Presidents met on Monday June 12.
The 12 Vice Presidents, representing the 12 areas in which the SSVP organizes its international structure and its presence in the world, gave their activity reports and an overview of the situation of the territories under their responsibility. Some members of the Board of the General Council International, recognizing its importance, also participated at the meeting.
The meeting began at 9:30 a.m. with reports from the Vice Presidents for the Americas, Africa and Asia. In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Vice Presidents for Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.
The work of the International Territorial Vice Presidents is vital for the cohesion of the SSVP structure in the world. They are the representatives of the General Council International in the territories they are in charge of and serve as liaison between the Superior Councils of the different countries that are part of the International Confederation of the SSVP.
At the end of the meeting, the President General thanked each and every one of the Territorial Vice-Presidents for their commitment and hard work at the head of the Vincentian territories.
