Message to the Presidents of National Councils, Conferences, and Vincentians Around the World
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We have surrounded the world with a “network of charity” far beyond what our founders could have imagined. That network becomes tangible when looking beyond the care we give to our local community and seeing how our Society responds to suffering everywhere in the world.
With your support, one of the ways we live out the unity and solidarity that define our worldwide Society is through the work of the Commission for International Aid and Development (CIAD), which responds when Vincentians face extraordinary challenges in their communities—whether from natural disasters, conflict, or other urgent needs. Those efforts are funded by our Fund for International Solidarity (FIS).
To continue this vital work, we need you to contribute to the 2026 Annual Appeal for the Fund for International Solidarity. Each year we renew this appeal so that the fund is ready when the next need arises. We invite you, your Councils and Conferences, and your fellow Vincentians to take part in this once- a-year expression of Vincentian solidarity by contributing as generously as you are able.
Because of your generosity, we can stand beside our fellow Vincentians when they need help the most. In many places, Conferences and Councils are already serving their neighbors with extremely limited resources. When crises strike, the Fund for International Solidarity allows us to quickly support their efforts and help them continue their mission.
Your support helps us to:
- Stand with Vincentians who are responding to disasters and emergencies in their communities.
- Have funds available to provide help quickly when urgent needs arise.
- Strengthen Councils that are working to develop programmatic responses to systemic poverty, and to increase their capacity to respond to emergency needs in their community.
- Show, through our shared service, the compassion and love of Christ to those who are suffering.
We encourage you to share the CIAD Annual Report with your fellow members. It shows how your generosity has brought real help and hope to people facing difficult circumstances. This is now the fifth year we have relied on a single annual appeal rather than multiple appeals for individual disasters. This approach allows us to respond more quickly and ensures that support reaches even those crises that may not receive widespread attention.
Every gift matters. Some may be able to give more, others less—but every contribution strengthens our worldwide network of friends. Just as important, we ask for your prayers for those affected by disasters and for the Vincentians who serve them.
