176th National Assembly of Mexico

The Assembly took place July 29, 30 and 31, in Leon, Guanajuato, with the participation by members from all regions of the country.
With the motto: “THE JOY OF SERVING”, we began our Assembly in person at the Cerro de Cubilete, in Silao, Guanajuato, on the Mountain of Christ the King, where they blessed the new National Council of Mexico. At this location we left a thank you from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul that will be in their museum.
Afterwards, we went to the retreat house of the Expiatory Temple of Leon, Guanajuato, to begin the activities of formation and updating of Vincentian documents that every member should know.
We had the assistance of Vincentian Priests: Father Juan Rodriguez Gaucin Provincial Visitor CM, our National Spiritual Advisor, Father Luis Lusarreta CM, in addition to Father Fernando Vallejo CM and Father Ricardo Gomez Neder CM who gave us very good formation presentation. We worked on the SWOT Analysis by regions then reflected on the theme of Discipleship according to Jesus.
Our Eucharists were enlivened by the OJAR Conference choir.
Each region reported on its activities and goals achieved during the year.
The National Council also presented its annual financial and activities report as well as the Twinning report. These reports were sent to the Regional Presidents 15 days before the Assembly so that they could review them and offer comments on the day of the Assembly.
Sister Ma. Guadalupe Santiago Santiago H.C., reminded us of our Vincentian Spirituality with a very motivating talk.
The topic of formation was discussed and the manuals of Vincentian Spirituality and Formation were presente. We were encouraged to read and use the new documents sent by the CGI (Governance Framework) and the letters recently sent by the CGI to be analyzed in order to be prepared for the election of our next International President.
To conclude, it was agreed that the next venue for the 2023 National Assembly will be Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
