Big damages in Vietnam for the typhoon Kammuri PDF Print E-mail

The typhoon "Kammuri" caused immense damages to many people in three provinces Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Yen Bai of VietNam, in early August. There were more than 200 dead and missing, many families have lost everything: houses, rice kept in reserve for their daily meals and green paddy in their fields for the next harvest, even the elementary tools for their work. Many families are living in an extreme misery.

 

 

The Vincentians have tried to help the poorest families who need an urgent first aid. The number of such people is about 15,000.
Upon appeal of the local SSVP, Council General has rapidly sent an emergency fund of 10,000 $ to allow them cover the most urgent needs: rice, corn, noodles, food for schools, cloths, medicines, and care to elderly and sick people.
