 The International Executive Committee of the Confederation (IEC) met in Salamanca, Spain, as it does every year in which the Plenary General Assembly of the Society does not meet. This issue reports briefly on the different events and meetings that took place on that occasion and in particular on the announcement by President General that an early elective Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) will be held in May 2010.

- In the past weeks, some countries in Asia & Oceania were devastated by natural disasters which have affected tens of thousands of people that were displaced and rendered homeless including many hundreds of deaths.
- On Tuesday 13 October 2009, twenty-five people from all over Europe came toghether at the CGI offices in Paris for the latest meeting of the European volunteers « Mobility Project ».
